Jessica Bortnova, MGCS, CGC is a laboratory genetic counselor specializing in hematopathology. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Master of Genetic Counselor Studies Program in 2018. She began her professional career as a clinical genetic counselor with Mayo Clinic’s Department of Clinical Genomics. In 2020, she transitioned to her current role within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. Jessica also serves as an Instructor in Medical Genetics for Mayo Clinic’s College of Medicine. Prior to entering the field of genetic counseling, Jessica worked for the Minnesota Department of Health’s Newborn Screening Program where she worked to develop the state’s sickle cell trait notification process.
